El arte NeoCrotálico es una forma de arte creada por el artista mexicano Javier López Pastrana en 2003. Su manifiesto artístico se basa en la creencia de la antigua cultura maya de que el secreto de la vida y la regeneración se guardaba en el cascabel de la serpiente cascabel y el patrón matemático y geométrico que se encuentra en su piel llamada “Canamayte”.
Neo = Nuevo & Crotálico (latín) = Serpiente de cascabel, por lo que esto puede interpretarse como "Nuevo arte de serpiente de cascabel"
El patrón de Canamayte ha sido utilizado por los mayas durante miles de años y se cree que representa la formación del cielo y la tierra desde cuatro esquinas y cuatro lados.
