Painting Inspiration and Concept
"MOVIMIENTO TEMPORAL" is a Mexican painting by Javier Lopez Pastrana, part of the artist's personal collection. Created in 2018, this artwork falls within the genre of contemporary art and features a mixed media composition on wood. It is presented in a landscape format with dimensions of 80x203cm.
The painting explores the concept of movement and symmetry through the use of everyday objects. Specifically, Lopez Pastrana incorporates various types of oars or shovels, as well as kitchen utensils, into the artwork. These objects caught the artist's attention due to their different sizes, ranging from smallest to largest. By including them in the composition, the artist creates an illusion of objects moving from far to near, establishing a sense of symmetry and translational symmetry between two points of perspective.
Each paddle or shovel carries a kinetic trajectory, leaving an imprint as it moves. The purpose of the artwork is to generate rhythm and movement through a neocrotalic composition. The neocrotalic style emphasizes the presence of movement that exists between the past and the future of musical composition. It combines elements of the past and the future, creating a visual plastic present.
The painting highlights the simultaneous existence of space, time, and movement. Unlike kinetic art or pop art, which often aim to create the illusion of movement, the artist in this artwork focuses on the coexistence of space, time, and movement as inherent aspects of objects and reality.
In summary, "MOVIMIENTO TEMPORAL" is a Mexican painting by Javier Lopez Pastrana that explores the concepts of movement and symmetry. Artist Quote
"Kinetic art like pop art has its purpose in kinesis through the illusion of visual perception. I do not apply this use in the present case of the work "temporal movement" simply space and time exist at the same time as the movement of an object.
Looking for various elements within mass consumption production, on some occasions I have liked to include objects within the product of artistic work in some works.
In the present case, the types of oars or shovels, kitchen utensils, caught my attention due to the different sizes from smallest to largest that I was able to collect and use as if it were the same image that comes from far to near. which would be a symmetry of equality and translational symmetry within the antagonism between the two points of perspective.
Each paddle or paddle carries a kinetic trajectory that leaves an imprint in your walk. For what the purpose is to generate rhythm, movement through a neocrotalic composition work that detonates the presence of a movement that is right between the past and the future of musical composition.
In visual plastic work, it is a present where the past and the future are combined at the same time."
